is a shame, because all hyperbole aside, it's easy to imagine
a vibrant scene developing around Cocodrie, and an eclectic program
of musical fare was had by the forthcoming few: Stru Tural, propelled
by the keen, distorto-guitar dynamics and Pavement-esque alternaguy
drawlings of the brothers Kennedy (Dan and Pat) offered up an
engaing compendium of noisy, Velvet Underground-inspired pop ruminations
- their New Model is probably the closest thing we're going
to get to a true anthem on the local front this year.
